Joy of Fish

Joy of Fish

Three red and one ink-black goldfish wheel among pale inked weeds and a wide field of white; their cloud-soft tails drift as joy rises from the quiet.

Rendered in ink with notes of bright red, the fish are painted in free washes: wet strokes dissolve into airy, translucent fins, while dotted scales give a spare sense of texture. The four form a circular drift, the lone black fish anchoring the gaze and setting a vivid counterpoint to the three red ones. Water plants are brushed in faint bluish ink as misted clumps, heightening the broad blank that reads as water. The mood is limpid and calm, yet the circling bodies keep the scene lively, letting the idea of “Fish Joy” be felt in silence.
