Grand View of Rivers and Mountains

Grand View of Rivers and Mountains

With pale hues layering peaks and mist, a stream encircles the cottages—stillness threaded by motion—gathering the land’s splendor in one view.

Rendered in light greens, ochres, and bluish grays, the work uses ink outlines with both dry and wet texturing; the rock strata read crisp yet supple. The composition leads from the foreground crags and running water to two houses set on a terrace, with a small bridge and bamboo to the right, while tiered peaks rise like a screen in the distance. Broad reserves turn into a river bend; scattered rocks and a veiling cascade quicken the hush, so the mountain dwelling feels serene yet pulsing with life.
