Green Ridge, Ancient Pines

Green Ridge, Ancient Pines

Gnarled pines thrust into mist as blue‑green ink washes breathe mountain moisture, a red eave half‑hidden at left deepening the hush and antiquity.

Ink provides the armature, lightly accented with blue‑green, russet, and slate; the trunks are outlined and textured with dry brush, branches interlace like cursive, and the foliage is built up through pooled and broken washes. The composition is anchored by ancient pines in the near ground—three trunks standing while lateral limbs veil the sky—forming a soaring vertical; a corner of the hall peeks from the lower left, set against broad reserves of mist to open depth. Cool and warm notes answer between leaves and eaves, giving the mountain sanctuary a moist, expansive air that feels somber yet fresh.
