Springs Among the Pines
Shrouded cliffs stand face to face as a ribbon of white falls like a spring between them; sparse pine shadows breathe, and the stillness seems to sound.
Layered ink washes spread a vaporous mist, while dry, textured strokes carve the ridges and weathered pines, with cool greens softly bleeding through. The composition frames a deep ravine between two towering walls; a central reserve of white reads as waterfall and cloud, depth stepping from near slope to distant peaks into haze. Ink values shift from dense to pale, punctuated by cool green, giving the mountains weight and a chill breath; one seems to stand at the chasm’s edge, hearing the spring echo in the fog.
