Pines and Mist in the Ravine
Cliffs billow like clouds and the pines murmur; two white-robed figures sit by the stream, where the land’s vastness meets a moment of inner clarity.
In the idiom of ink landscape, the crags are built with layered dry‑and‑wet texture strokes, the ink shifting from dense to pale like encircling vapour; pine sprays are woven from fine dotting, lightly tinted with mineral blue‑green, cool and lucid. Compositionally a towering massif occupies most of the sheet, with blankness reserved for sky and mist; ravines and distant peaks step back in staggered depth, balancing solid and void. In the foreground an ancient, root‑bound tree thrusts across and the sloping rocks lead the eye to a stream; beside it two white‑robed figures sit together, one looking up, as if catching the pine wind crossing the water. The whole settles into a mood of austere, far‑reaching quiet through contrasts of the vast and the minute, movement and stillness.
