The Coffee Muse

A coffee muse whose hair and gown are formed from real coffee beans, offering a cup of Hoshino Coffee. Entry for the 2023 Hoshino Coffee Art Contest.

Against a golden ground, a woman in profile is built from individual real coffee beans — her voluminous curls and robe formed bean by bean — as she lifts a cup of coffee whose amber aroma curls upward; the cup bears Hoshino Coffee’s “H” mark. The natural sheen of the beans plays against hand-painted line, lifting “coffee” from a drink into ornament and poetry. Made for the 2023 Hoshino Coffee Art Contest.
