喜
A monumental “xi” in semi-cursive sweeps across the field, its rich and dry inks interlacing so that joy wells up from the brush’s quick and slow cadences.
Loaded ink shapes the single character with centered, rounded turns, where flashes of dry-brush answer pools of wet black. Placed slightly to the right, a long horizontal sweeps left like an outstretched arm to anchor the composition; slim inscriptions at the margins and red seals punctuate the field, red set against black. Broad reserves of paper let the movement breathe, giving the work an exultant yet composed bearing—celebration held with dignity.
