知足常泰・无求品高
Two vigorous columns of running script render “contentment brings lasting ease; seeking nothing ennobles character,” their steady ink breathing a calm, self‑possessed poise through generous white space.
Executed in running-cursive calligraphy, the ink is saturated and controlled, with clear presses and lifts; thickness and wet–dry textures alternate, and turns reveal flickers of flying white. Composed as a vertical pair, the right column reads “Only by knowing contentment is the heart ever at ease,” and the left “When one seeks nothing, character rises of itself,” with spacious character and line spacing that balances tension and release. Two red seals at mid-height and the lower left punctuate the field and sharpen the rhythm. The overall mood is unhurried and lucid, conveying a settled heart that knows its limits.
