听鸟语

Seated among bamboo shadows, a woman extends her wrist to meet a small bird’s gaze, where stillness and quick life echo through meticulous baimiao linework.

In the baimiao manner, fine lines delineate the figure, bamboo, and stone, softened by faint rubbing and hatching so the folds, textures, and feathers feel ample yet taut. The woman, shown in profile, sits on the ground; her right arm traces an elegant arc toward the bird perched on her palm, while trailing ribbons coil and answer the slant of the bamboo leaves. A stone planter and bamboo at left ground the composition, and a generous quiet white to the right brings the dialogue between woman and bird to the fore. The mood is limpid and restrained, as if sound itself were held within the lines.
