半壁青山

A white-silk waterfall cleaves the cliff as autumn trees and hillside dwellings emerge from the mist; lucid ink, lightly touched with ochre and blue‑green, reveals the austere yet human presence of “Half the Green Mountain.”

Executed chiefly in ink, alternating textured strokes and washes give the rocks their bone, while the foliage is dotted like rain; restrained notes of ochre, azurite and gamboge, with a cool blue‑green on the roof tiles, keep the palette limpid without overpowering the ink. In a soaring vertical design, the main cascade runs top to bottom, flanked by two sheer half-walls of mountain; plank paths and a bridge lead the eye, dwellings perch tiered along the cliffs, a discreet inscription surfaces at upper right, and reserves open as breathing mist. One can almost hear the water, as the reds and yellows of autumn play against the cool ink, sharpening the crags while adding a quiet warmth of habitation.
